Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people who use the space. Interior designers use a combination of imagination and technical knowledge to create functional, attractive, and safe interior spaces. This includes the selection of color schemes, lighting, furniture, flooring, and other decorative elements. Interior designers work with architects, builders, and clients to plan and execute the design of a space. They use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other tools to create plans and visual presentations of their ideas. Common interior design software includes AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Chief Architect.

The syllabus for an interior design course include the following topics:

Building Codes and Standards: This section will cover building codes and standards related to interior design, such as fire and life safety codes, and accessibility requirements.

Professional Practice: This section will cover the business side of interior design, including project management, communication with clients, and working with contractors and other professionals.
