Many students who have completed their 12th-grade year are faced with the question of how to move forward, such as what courses or streams they can choose for either going to technical school or some creative artistic school or to some other college after 12th results. Whereas everything relies on the person's area of interest and how they acknowledge it. Now, each institution has its own set of selection criteria that it uses to shortlist or select applicants for admission. The well-defined requirements for this are as follows:

In the first instance, eligibility for admission is determined by the specific cut-off point above which the applicant must have earned a certain percentage, such as 70% or 85% above, similar to how Delhi University used to operate.

The second situation is when a candidate must take an entrance exam to be considered for further consideration. This exam has a cut-off mark, and candidates are only given the chance to take it if they score slightly above it.
